Mass is both a property of a physical body and a measure of its resistance to acceleration (a change in its state of motion) when a net force is applied. An object’s mass also determines the strength of its gravitational attraction to other bodies. Using creative photographic techniques and captured entirely in camera this project playfully visualises the seven base quantities. A base quantity is a physical quantity in a subset of a given system of quantities that is chosen by convention, where no quantity in the set can be expressed in terms of the others. The International System of Quantities (ISQ) defines seven base quantities: Electric current, Length, Luminous intensity, Mass, Amount of substance, Thermodynamic temperature and Time.
